Story
Hi All,
I’m planning to pedal along the Great Ocean Road, the worlds biggest memorial to the fallen Aussi soldiers of the Great War, as a matter of interest . It is renowned for its dramatic seascapes and beautiful bush land with cascading waterfalls and stunning forests. Ancient tress on one side and on the sea side, magnificent surf beaches, high cliffs and incredible rugged coastal landscapes. Take a look at the video below. The Great Ocean Cycle Tour comprises 300+ Km in 3 days from the 8 to 10 February 2015 and the three day cycling tour begins in Geelong and ends in Warnambool, Victoria. It will be a tough ride, very hilly and into the wind! Am I mad? Why am I doing this?
This event is run by 25000spins, a non-profit program that aims to raise money for "Kids in poverty" and as most of you will know, I worked many years in Nigeria and have personally seen the orphanages that exist in Africa. They desperately need outside financial assistance to look after the children – so many of them and so sad! I am doing this to help orphanages in Botswana, so I'd really appreciate it if you could help by sponsoring me for the "Botswana Orphan Project" charity, which I have chosen to help by doing this ride. I know we have just had Christmas and are paying off the credit card bills, but just think of the Christmas these kids had compared to ours …. Or rather didn't have! If you can help, then great and thank you very much. Just a small $25 donation will help.
Wish me luck and Thanks in advance - Mark

Botswana Orphan Project ( Helplink Australia Inc)
The Botswana Orphan Project is a non-profit entity focused on providing support for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Botswana. Since its inception in 2007 we have helped to build six orphan centres around the country. The orphan centres are focused on alleviating the burden on guardians by providing day care facilities and after school care. The centres also aid in breaking the cycle of poverty by feeding, ensuring they receive the appropriate health care and instilling a sense of self-worth in the children.
